This show is embarrassing to watch.
Apparently, it's about a very unlikable dufuss, who's watched way too much bad television. I think that the annoying black and white film clips that seem to pepper the episodes are supposed to convey his thoughts. If they had some kind of context to them, I might be able to better understand thier purpose. As far as I can tell, they're just a lame gimmick to differentiate this show from other horrible sitcoms.
So Homer, or Fred, or Peter, or whatever-this-guys-name-is would be a little more palletable if the rest of his family were interesting or unique in some way. They're not. His son and ex-wife are typical mediocre sitcom characters with no discerning personalities. From what I can tell, they only serve the purpose of emphasizing the fact that the lead character is stupid and hypocritical. I would guess that since this is such an easy task, that little development was written for them. It would've been nice to develop these characters just as a means to keep me awake for the 21 minutes that I lost.
I only watched this episode to see Adrienne Barbeau. She's held up pretty well. I'm not sure why her character was supposed to be attracted to George Jetson, or whoever-this-guy-is, and watching the episode did not shed any light on her motivation. It just made me want to throw something at my screen.
If you here to see Barbeau, watch from 8:40 to 14:00. She has another scene at 16:10, but it's not worth it. You'd have to endure typical dialogue in a typical sitcom setting that you've probably seen many, many times. But at least with the mediocre scene you get to enjoy yet more black and white comedy clips that have nothing to do with the scene.
Here's an idea - instead of attempting to pay homage to old comedy by carelessly splattering clips throughout a bad sitom, why not just show the original comedy shows in their entirety? Then there'd be no reason to watch this steaming pile.
