Good movie to watch with kids. Sweet.

Loved it. Perfect movie through and through. I love that it shows the butterfly effect in life and the fact that your actions can effect the lives of others.
I think it also showed the fact that sometimes just being realistic and living your life brings more hope and peace to you than any "good luck" charm or form of escapism you can think of.
The kid was adorable and I loved the ending.

Mystical Chinese powers? Give me a break. Maybe I'm just being super ethno-centric, but Sandra Oh's (who's Korean) Cantonese is horrendous and so is the woman from the Joy Luck Club's. Not everyone screams "Ai-yah" or works in a dim sum restaurant because their Chinese. Sorry, I can't appreciate this movie for what it is. There's too many movies that play on chinky stereotypes and this is just another one of them.

This is a gem of a movie. Appropriate for family viewing. Lovely presentation of chinese culture. Watched this after Wilby Wonderful so had to see Sandra Oh in two characters.

The movie is very Touching! It walks us through a different culture and beliefs. One universal point it brings across is - the senses of human nature - of love, giving, magic, sorrow, relationships --- are universal - in all cultures - all mankind.

I enjoyed it and it had good twists and turns. Family friendly.

I really enjoyed this movie. It felt like a foreign film, even thought it took place in America. I love the fact that the Chinese language and subtitles were kept and not replaced with silly dubs. It's authentic, especially when the older generation spoke, that they would speak to each other in their native tongue. More foreign movies, please, hulu! And not silly dubs. I want to hear the beauty of the language. When you take away an actors voice by dubbing, you are diminishing their performance. Oh, and Lee-Tai-Tai rocks!
