I was really excited when I saw the first 3 seasons were available. It was my favorite show when I was a kid, and I must say it holds up pretty well. Pre-dating Larry Sanders by 2 years, I consider it to be the first of the many great HBO series. Very funny, with some quality performances. The first season is a little weak but it definitely improves starting with the second season, when they switched the actor who played Eddie (and one of the few times in TV history where the switch really worked well) and added Michael McKeon to the cast as Martin's new boss. My only dilemma is whether to watch them currently available edited episodes (it was re-run on regular cable) or wait to see if Hulu can get the unedited ones that ran on HBO. There is a message that says they are currently trying to get the unedited ones. I really hope they can, as some of the best lines probably don't make it into the edited version.
