When I was in the military I weighed 150 lbs. and did leg press of 250-300. Most of these people weigh over 200 lbs. so I think that it isn't impossible for them to lift this kind of weight. I also had to pick up men that weighed way more then me, as part of military training. These people are exercising way more than some basic training units do. Bob and Jillian are both trained professionals, and they know what these peoples bodies can handle. And also most people that are overweight would go thru any type of abuse to lose the wieght that they need to, to be healthy.   See 10 other replies

If that chick was benching 350, she'd be a seasoned powerlifter. There is absolutely no way she's doing that after a couple of weeks of beginning weight training. It's impossible. At first I thought that you meant that she was squating 350, but even 350 on the leg press for a female in the first couple of weeks of weight training would be impossible.   See 10 other replies

Good point... if she couldn't have physically done it and Bob felt it was beyond her, she wouldn't have been asked to do it. Bob simply wants to help his team see that they CAN do far more than they think-what a self esteem booster! :) What's more, does nobody consider in our lawsuit obsessed society that Bob and Jill would not do something without thinking it through??? They are not going to do something to legally put themself into trouble and certainly wouldn't set out to harm one of their team!   See 10 other replies

Ummm, it should NOT be illegal for a trainer to get rightly upset with the person they are training who is LAZY and has nothing but excuses for their inadequate performance. This is The Biggest Loser, not The Biggest Excuse Maker. Joelle got HUGE for a reason-making excuses, not disciplining herself, and nobody pushed her for self betterment. We need more people yelling the truth at us. Without such a harsh dose of reality, some people will simply keep on their suicidal path of obesity and will DIE. Hmmm, which is better-being made aware through harsh reality checks so you can get HEALTHY and fit or keep on shoveling burgers and shakes into your gullet as you die at 50 from obesity related diseases??? WHY are we so hypersensitive in this country that when it even comes to life or death we are sooo scared to speak the truth???
And by the way, did anyone happen to notice what happened AFTER Bob got on Joelle? She DID IT! She pushed and did what he required... hmmm...All these people on this show must be pushed because without it they will not start a new life on to health and living to the fullest.   See 10 other replies

Actually, I have been heavy. I gained a lot of weight in pregnancy (50 lbs. with each one). I worked it off myself.Your point is good. But weight-loss or any health maintenance is largely about self-discipline, isn't it? And what self-discipline does that teach you if you rely on someone else to scream at you to work at it? Not sure. I guess each person has a different way of dealing with their health. I still say that you don't need to suffer abuse to get your health in control. It's an internal process.
