Interesting that Chris has to explain the obvious. I always feel starved for comedy because most of what is put out as comedy is so god-awful. We have to wait so long between the Strangers With Candys & the Stellas & the 30Rocks... I saw the first episode and was simultaneously entertained and annoyed. The three characters were such extreme caricatures of hammy modern non-violent "Three Strooges." But, I don't know, maybe it was the music, but I watched the next 3 episodes. I feel now that it can't be held to the same standards of a situation comedy, that it's more fair to think of it as long-form or theme based sketch comedy with the three characters filling every needed role while mocking the drama, tragedy, tension, and comedy which other shows would treat seriously. So, yeah, I'm taking the "it only seems bad because it's so good" road.
