i don't think the people that don't like this show actually get what they're doing with their humor most of the time. the vast majority of "jokes" are based on drawing out what an otherwise typical situation would entail, until it purposely becomes absurd, impossible or just massively cliche. it's all completely intended to be ridiculous, but to get it you have to understand where they're coming from, and what type of situation they're parodying. almost every joke starts out as some normal thing happening until a point where the watcher could practically guess where it's going, and at that point "stella" turns away from those expectations abruptly. if something seems childish or crass or drawn out, it's supposed to be understood that they're mocking something childish or crass or drawn out, and not actually trying to use childish or crass or drawn out situations to make a joke. the point of "stella" is to mock the devices that other shows purposely use.
