Gee, I love Dragnet.What an interesting and odd episode. I remember back in 1970 when concerns about air pollution seemed like something new.I have many memories of various Dragnet episodes that contained 'soapbox' moments - - But most often it was Friday or another authority figure pontificating on a particular cause. How strange in this one that so many important and bona fide facts about ecology, the environment and the Forest Service were provided by the suspect. Had the story run a little differently, or with a different actor as the ranger, they could have really shot themselves in the foot, portraying environmentalists as mentally ill con-men. (That would come later, well after Dragnet)
