Yeah, because two consenting adults is totally the same thing as an adult with an unaware, unwilling child.... (note the sarcasm)Who declared how it was "meant to be?"God? The same God that is so comfortable with slavery that he gives guidelines on how to sell women as slaves the "moral" way [Exodus 21:7-11]? The same God that declared that we need to kill both the adulterer and the person he or she has the affair with [Leviticus 20:10]? The same God that declared we must stone to death women who have sex before marriage (but only after confirming it by vaginal examination... presumably) [Deuteronomy 22:13-21]?No, it wasn't God, it was the people who wrote these books. The Bible certainly has a lot of good ideas in between the extremism, but if you choose to act on it literally, enjoy your multiple consecutive life sentences. There is one overarching theme to the Bible that I think overrides anything else in it. Why? Because this is the one thing that is in every single book multiple times in multiple wordings, and that theme is "Love one another."If you can't get past 3 things about gays that some guy put in the Bible and claimed was God's opinion, maybe you should consider acting on those other ones...Or perhaps, most of all, you should consider acting on that "Treat each other with absolute love and compassion" that is spread all throughout.Just some food for thought, you literalist bigot.
