Just great fun watching the former Inspector cracking an old unsolved case, while he tried to make a suspect think he was cracking up. Enjoyed the English setting and characters. Check out the paintings and furnishings. Everyone was exceedingly, stereotypically polite to all, murderer or not.
Directed by Hitchcock's sense of heightened drama and wry sense of humor. Produced by Joan Harrison. Teleplay by Francis Cockrell, based on a story by Rupert Croft-Cooke. With John Williams, Kenneth Haigh, Reginald Gardiner, and Max Adrian.
