Ok, maybe it's NOT so cool to humiliate people in this manner, it is degrading in it's own way. YET, here's some really good and bad points about the show::
1) Even AFTER being busted and told the truth of their actual arrest, they still signed an agreement to be shown on TV!!! (389 busts, and these are only few of the idiots that agreed to be shown.)
They obviously don't care that they will be widely known for their arrest on TV. Seems they are either stupid, don't care if it's humiliating, want the fame of it, and/or think it's cool to show off that they have been arrested. I have actual known a couple of guys that bragged about being in jail! DUMB. THESE arrested people on the show, OBVIOUSLY WANTED to be on the show AND didn't think it was HUMILIATING TO THEMSELVES since they signed the agreement to be shown on the air even after being arrested.
2) They are criminals none the less. They are all charged with felony crimes, not just lowly misdemeanors. (More about that and why it's the FAIL of the show below)
3) ALSO, FOX made sure that anyone that was aired was actually CONVICTED AND PROVEN GUILTY of their crimes, so not to get any grind if someone was not fully convicted. That makes sure anyone proving innocence wouldn't be on air. And besides, some of these criminals were already proven guilty, but decided to hide from showing up in court for probation, or to receive their punishment, and/or do their time.
4) And though others have said this in other reviews, I'll say it IN SHORT:
NO tax payer's money was used! FOX paid for it all, and the officers were OFF duty.
PLUS, it is easier and saves MONEY AND TIME to catch them this way - so that they can go after other worse criminals when they are legally ON DUTY USING TAX PAYER MONEY to catch the likes of rapists and murderers..
I know an officer that issues warrants everyday --- their priority is going after the worse criminals. SO, this show accomplishes getting these types of criminals off the streets, accounting them for their crimes. One guy on the show, (in Spa Promotion near the end of the episode), was wanted for several things, among failure to pay child support, 2 Extreme DUI's, and check fraud, AND more (sheriff asked, "Do you want me to go on?" after listing a few, and Dustin answered No.), as well as failure to appear in court.
Would you want these kind of people hanging around endangering your life for being allowed to continually drive around drunk, writing bad checks to you and whatnot. OR should they do their time and pay for their crime in hopes that such actions might stop happening to the innocent?
!!! The one girl in the Movie Star episode ADMITTED to having a drinking problem and several DUI's before she ever knew it was a prank to arrest her! Would you prefer her keep driving around your community?
FAIL...FAIL...FAIL...
!!!
FAIL...FAIL...FAIL...
!!!
WHY IS THIS SHOW IS A TOTAL FAIL?
I'll give you the top most reason it's a FAIL out of the many reasons:
Because the crimes aren't hardcore enough. Pointblank. IF they were rapists, murderers, or some other really bad crimes, then it would get way better reviews. Then how would it be any different than a funny prank version of the Cops show?
YET, FOX wanted to play it safe by making sure that the crimes weren't the sort that would put anyone else on the show in danger. They picked people that weren't as likely to pull a gun out and shoot the actors and FOX people.
Sure, many people think this show is crap and it's only because the types of criminal offenses for arrest shown, aren't hardcore enough for many viewers. Trust me, most everyone who posts bad reviews WOULD HAVE LOVED THE SHOW IF they showed a RAPIST or MURDERER being arrested instead.
And I bet that most anyone that would still post a bad review (as well as some of the current reviews) are people who are such types of criminals with warrants that they choose to hide from or worse anyway. Gee, even one of the reviews listed was a guy that points out he smokes pot. DUH, of course he wouldn't want to be caught either.
I wouldn't doubt if some of the arrested that didn't agree to be shown on national TV posted their own bad reviews just because they are piissed to have been arrested at all, especially in this manner.
WHAT OTHERS SAY FAILS ABOUT THE SHOW:
Some say -- why waste time and effort grabbing them this way, that if they responded to the mailers, then why didn't they just bust them at home? I'll give you JUST ONE of the many reasons why - less CONFLICT! In their homes, they are more likely to fight and cause problems for themselves, their family, the officers, and their community. THUS, if you put them in a show, make them feel cool, and no conflict when arrested. Plus, if they responded to the mailers, they just verified where and who they are (except the one fraud idiot.)
OH WOW GEE, that was a lot easier than wasting tax payer's money to verify where they are and go after them, then probably having to pin them to the ground in a fight just to handcuff them.
Did I explain my opinions of the good and bad of this show well enough?
