1. Genetic
2. Diet
3. Over use of antibiotics, knocking out the gut floraPersonally I do not think animals enjoy eating poop, they do it because they are lacking digestive enzymes, or have a genetic problem with making digestive enzymes.Ways to solve the problem
1. Add yogurt to the diet (inexpensive way first)
2. Add digestive aids
a. OptaGest by In-Clover
b. Prozyme enzyme dietary supplement
c. Intestamine Powder by Douglas Labs, expensive but works for the genetic problem dogs
d. Gastriplex by Thorne Research
e. Gentle Digest by Ark Naturals
3. Change to a better food as well. Remember the first three ingredients on a bag of food are and can be of equal amounts. Make sure your food is more meat, (not by-products). Try and stay away from corn, wheat, and beet pulp. Hope this helps those out there dealing with the issue of coprohagiaCheers
