First of all, I've reported the two above posts as "offensive". It is BECAUSE of racist biggots like you that groups like the Black Panthers must exist. (And not that it matters, but I happen to be white and I'm writing this.) Although I wouldn't burn or walk on a flag, I certainly don't have my undies in a bundle over that. I also think the narrator of this clip was a bit over the top by stating the Black Panthers "hate" the U.S. government.
I am a white person who has served my country and I am offended by the Black Panthers. Even the whole use of the word "whitey" and "white devils". It just doesn't compare to the "n" word or the oppression that people of color still face.
As for the comments about "Go back to where you came from", that's just assinine! I dare you to say that to an American Indian person! Because unless YOU are truly a native of this country, your ancestors came from somewhere else as well! Or how about when we women fight for our rights as we have been oppressed by MEN (of all colors I should add)? I would love for some biggot to tell me, a woman to "go back where you came from" simply because I think we live in a sexist society. If a man dared say that to me I'd laugh and say, "Well YOU should go back inside your mama's womb then!"
I think the problem is that too many ignorant white people, sexist men, etc. are stupidly threatened by any type of protest, political movement, activism, or speaking out against injustice. Rather than take the comments of the Black Panthers PERSONALLY simply because some of them use terms like "white devil" or whatever, how about INSTEAD seeing the WHOLE picture? As in, they're not pointing their finger at you, ONE individual white person. It's about SYSTEMIC racism along with SYSTEMIC classism, SYSTEMIC sexism, SYSTEMIC homophobia, and so on.
