I think what made this broadcast meaningful was that the Kennedys made an earnest attempt to create a new age of enlightenment in demonstrating to the American people that we could truly embrace the colorful culture and history of this country as our own. History becomes meaningful when it is demonstrated in a way where it can truly come alive in the mind's eye.No one of that stature had done that before - giving us a more exalted sense of ourselves. That is part of what made that era so unique and well remembered. It is great to have this piece of history now so that others can share it.
