for putting this game up. I've watched it three times already. I was there in Louisiana for Utah's big win. It was absolutely amazing. Too bad the BCS robs teams of National Championships. Utah deserved it for their season this year.

Just wanted to set the record straight. Utah played and defeated Michigan (who was ranked at the start of the season) in Ann Arbor. They beat 3 teams that finished the season nationally ranked. (Oregon St, BYU, TCU). TCU is ranked in the top 10. And Utah's SOS was actually higher than Alabama's.

Sorry lityourselfonfire, that honor goes to the Boise State-Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl of 2007.
Still, this was a thoroughly enjoying game to watch though. The Utes and their fans will remember this as the year of the perfect season, notwithstanding being robbed by a computer. They stood toe to toe with the big boys. They came, they saw, they conquered.
Congrats to the only major unbeaten team left standing in college football.

How is it that two - one loss teams are playing for the National Championship and an undefeated team is not? It has to do with Strength of Schedule (SOS). Utah played 1 ranked team and their SOS was as low as the 100th weakest (lowest is 120) in the nation. I think their average was 57-64th before the bowl game.Florida and OU were in the top 5. The computers give this enough importance. I'm not a BCS fan and would like to see a true playoff. I believe they could incorporate the bowl games by rotating them. The top 8 teams plan in 4 1st round games (4 bowl games); the 4 winners plan in the semi finals (2 bowl games); and the final big game determines a winner. So 6 bowl games would share and rotate the 6 playoff games and the BCS championship game still exists. There is still the pageantry of the bowl games (and the $ for the schools) but the in the end, there is a true playoff system.
