Don Taylor directs this Robert C. Dennis teleplay of a very funny but macabre Rick Edelstein story. John McGiver is a man obsessed with the idea of making his dull existence more memorable to others in any way possible, while Vivian Nathan has the role of his self-martyring but also domineering relative. This plot would have made a good Monty Python skit. McGiver played many entertaining characters alongside a long list of well-known stars such as James Stewart, Audrey Hepburn, and Frank Sinatra, in the 1950s, '60s, and '70s.
In the opening and closing of this episode, Hitchcock challenges a wise-guy pre-Cray giant computer, long before IBM or Apple were around. For those who don't know what computers were before laptops and smart phones, visit your local science museum.
