Much like it's creator O'Brien and the mains Richter and Hale, this is one of those left-of-center shows that is too facetious and ironic for the average viewership found on network television. In other words, this show was too smart for an American audience. And no viewers means no advertisers which means no show. We call this phenomenon the "Arrested Development Syndrome" and there is, alas, still no cure. At least there is Hulu (for now) to alleviate the symptoms.
