The problem with always using the same font/color/etc. is pretty much because of the limitations of how subtitling is handled on DVDs, so that's how FUNimation is used to doing them. See 4 other replies

you are like me and read the sub along with the audio to where the sub merely lets you relate to the audio better. its a little irregular but not unheard of. you can pick up bits and pieces of japanese that way if you learn a little about japanese sentence structure See 4 other replies

I think the problem is that the exact same font, color, and size is used on the text of background translations. The way I read words, I can't stop myself from reading some of the background while trying to read the conversation translation. I don't have this problem nearly as much if they change the font a little.

Its hard to explain, but I don't read subs like you would read text in a book, so... ah hell, I probably don't make sense to some people on this, but if you read the same way you know what I mean. See 4 other replies
