This whole Cyanobacteria/Geobacter plot vanishes if one of these guys says the magic word ... "antibiotics." These are not infectious bacteria to start with. A healthy immune system should eat them right up. And there's no reason they would be antibiotic resistant. Both Cyanobacteria and Geobacter are gram-negative, would evoke an immune response, and are vulnerable to similar antibiotics.(Irrelevant note: certain cyanobacteria colonize the hair shafts of Polar Bear fur giving the bears them a greenish or yellowish tint. This is usually seen on bears in zoos.)Also one of the first things anyone does working with bacteria (if they're gene-splicing anyway) is modify them to need some nutrient that is rare in nature, so they can't survive in the wild. (Even if it's a "rogue lab" that protocol is taught in undergrad Micro.)Ludicrous thermodynamics ... Arrgh ... hope it gets better. First two seasons were much better. The science wasn't perfect, but it didn't stink to an old biologist who hasn't even been in a lab for 30 years.And Rehab? Really?
