I agree about Max. I dont know that it's bad acting or just his part, but it has never looked right to me that with all those supposed emotions, he doesnt show it. Other than that, i like everything about the show... well, all that sucking face with the microphones seemingly in their mouths.. was a bit much.
When the show was on TV, i didnt feel at first it was my kind of show. I really like science fiction, but rarely shows that just use a "sci-fi" backdrop. then again there is so little real science fiction on the screen of any size. HOWEVER, 2 things got me watching Roswell... Dido's Theme song and Shiri Appleby. The theme song always gets to me and it both fits the show theme but so much more the emotional feel of Max's and Liz's relationship. Liz takes me back to my younger days emotionally like no other show i've seen. She never acts nor appears to have "been around the block" which is different than so many show characters anymore. She comes across as a girl just at the point of becoming a woman... a whole life ahead and unknown... as opposed to some hard case or even fad oriented. Perhaps it's just that looking back through the years, either herself and/or her character is just the kind of girl i would choose if i could start all over. So... she had me hooked from almost the beginning and the theme music locked me in. Towards the end of the first season, the show became more dramatic... intense, which i think was a good thing. It had been long enough since i watched the show on TV that i dont recall much detail, so it's almost like new again and i think i like it even more this time around. The down side is that here i am at the end of season 1 with no more episodes to watch! Please post the rest of the series!!! I'm emotionally involved here! Was this review helpful?

Did anyone notice Michael was usually right in his suggestions, and because of the love-blindness, Max was often wrong. IE, wanting to find Nasedo, that whole thing with River Dog, wanting to trust the lady agent who was murdered in the fire, etc.
I agree the kissy-kissy stuff in the middle of a crisis was a bit pushing it, but the relationships were necessary to the story-line. Really great entertainment, funny at times, and I prefer the hot-head Michael character over the too-slow to react Max. Michael didn't hesitate when Pierce almost got the Sheriff, he just stepped in an blew Pierce away - but it seemed that it took forever for Max to react to the Sheriff's son dying. Oh well, directing and drama and all that, but Max frustrates me too much. A faster reaction would make him seem more in the story, rather than just almost like a by-stander, which he seemed throughout season 1. Great music, great story, good acting (except Max's character, though I don't think it's the actors I think it's just the writers and how they have him so slow it's almost like he's on drugs). Really want to see the next two seasons! Sitting on the edge of my seat - just too addictive! Was this review helpful?

Wow! What a great series.
Can't thank Hulu enough. My work schedule only allowed me to veiw a few episodes and now I know what I missed.
The story line was well weaved and the introduction of characters had great timeing.
Realy enjoyed the way they kept the essence and confusion of being a teenager involved.(The bone-headed moves of Michael and the rest of the gang.)
Would have given it five stars had it not been for the unrealistic and typical Hollywood,"Lets fall in Love and show it in the middle of the crisis. "I know death is stalking us but lets stop and hug and kiss for a few minutes."
Don't get me wrong the love stories involved were critical to the series, it's just so unreal when they push it that far.
Oh yea, what a nice hook to lead us into the next season. Good Alien verses Bad Alien' Can't wait to see more and hope you will be airing it in the future.
Thanks again Hulu.
