I have no idea why historians do not properly look up things in the historical context of the day. When the man asked Jesus if he could go bury his father it was not that his father was necessarily dead the specific words he used in that language was a common phrase of that time and culture that a man would ask before leaving his land to travel. He was asking Jesus if he could wait possibly years for his father to die and he receive his inheritance before following Jesus. Jesus knowing he did not have that long left on earth responded in what many think is wrong because of misinterpretation.
Also, when Jesus over threw the money changers tables it was because they were charging ridiculous prices to the people who would travel there by boat and were not able to bring animals for sacrifice. Jesus also did not do anything that would cause people loss, money can be picked up, he told them to take the doves and go instead of losing them because they could not be recovered. I quit watching after that because i didn't want to learn from people researched so poorly.
