The census and Jebus stories presented as actual history, disgusting. It's time to stop kowtowing to the pious. There is not one authentic shard of historical or archeological evidence to even hint that the census took place or that Jebus was a real person. Religions are all pre-dark ages fairy tales and their dogmas are harmful to societies and the advancement of the human race. This plague that we bring upon ourselves needs to be put in it's proper place: Mythology. There, it can harm none instead of blighting all humanity as the accepted insanity that it truly is.

This story, of the Census, where everyone had to go back to their “home town”, there is no mention of this outside of the bible. And, if this very strange thing ever did happen, certainly would have been recorded in Roman history. Just think of this very strange requirement, how would anyone fulfill it? Would you go to your fathers, or mother, or grandmothers, or grandfathers home town? And why would it be necessary? Why wouldn’t you just TELL the census teller where your parents came from, isn’t that easier that TRAVELING THERE?No, this strange story has long been recognized as an attempt to get Jesus’ birth to a place that some say was prophesied.
But, here, it’s presented as HISTORY!! What a joke. What a same. Is there no end to the pandering to the pious? This is shameful.

Unfortunately history is often bent for religious or political reasons. There is ZERO references to Jesus Christ in Roman history. If such a man existed there should be volumes of evidence in archeology but there is none. Just as there is none for King David. Both are fabrications of superstitions that the modern day superstitious are trying to weave into history. In the endless rewrite of history. The bible is an evolution of superstition based on older superstitions. Just as the Roman gods are evolutions of the older greek gods. Learn about Mithra if you want to learn what Christianity was created from. In the Vatican you can still find a marble bull the symbol of Mithra as the Vatican was built on top of a former Mithra temple from the Roman empire.Lets please separate our religions distortions of history from accurate history.Embrace Science not superstition.

As an Agnostic who therefore does not believe that Jesus was the son of God you can bet this response is not biased. Jesus absolutely did exist. Whether or not he did certain things are up for debate, but as a man he most certainly existed. What I don't get is that my (admitedly small) understanding of Jesus is that he never once claimed to be a super human or the son of God. The title was given to him by others and when asked if he was he would pretty much say no. Or say things like everyone was a son or daughter of God. If this is so they should've mentioned it here.

You have a soft spot about Jesus don't you. While it is easy to refute whether or not Jesus was actually a person who walked on the planet it is undeniable that he is one of the most influential characters in all of history. His impact, not his existence, is what this film touches on. Being a sceptic about religion is not taboo, in fact it is trendy, like you. Make points on discussion boards, don't just be a hater.

I can't believe they included the story of Jesus in this as if it was historical record even though there is no historical evidence. And before anyone even mentions it, the bible doesn't count.

There is no Roman record, or any other record for that matter.... The story was made up by a priest, mostly plagiarized from the Egyptian story of Ra the sun god. Criticizing religion is far too taboo, people should be free to insult others religious beliefs. Think about it, these people BELIEVE IN A MAN WHO NEVER EXISTED, AND BELIEVE HE HAD SUPER POWERS. If I believed in Superman I would be sent to a mental institution. Religions shouldn't be tolerated, it's legalized insanity.
