America, stand and be proud, not necessarily because you have elected your first non-white president although that is , but because so many people participated in the true genius of our country and voted. No matter who you voted for America, you stood and were counted and should be proud. To those who did not support President-Elect Obama, and who did so on issues of policy, not issues of race or religion you should stand proud. I think this country was truly blessed to have two men as great as we did running for the White House. Although tough times still lay ahead, let our country work united instead of divided, and do not cast hate and blame on our predecessors. Yes, George W Bush has been our President for 8 years and things have not gone completely the way we have all wanted, but not everything can be blamed on him. He made moves that he saw as the best for our country, and he received intelligence reports that were less than acurate and acted upon those. I will say his supporting cast in the White House really took a turn for the worse in 2004, and that he himself has made a lot of mistakes. Those who honestly believe that Barack Obama is not going to make mistakes are unrealistic, he will. But it is what we learn from those mistakes that truly define us, and it is how much we can get done for our country that will define our people in politics. Look forward to the future, dont live on hate, and if you are still ashamed of our country for this move, then leave, but remember people that this is still the country with the most liberties in the world.
