When this show came out, I was very into it. I liked the whole idea of the show and I watched it every Saturday night it aired. Looking back at the storyline I see things that could have been written differently and it was very dark I wish they could do a little remastering so everyone face can bee seen clearly. Or is the darkness part of the show.
Overall I still like it. it had the potential to be a really great show. Someone had faith enough in it to have 22 episodes.

the music, lighting, japanese hypbrid city scapes, the car sound effects, costumes are well done and closely reminiscent (read rip off) of Blade Runner the futuristic gum shoe who tracked rogue androids. I have only watched the first episode but I bet even the wife of the main character turns out to be an android.

It's funny that with the decent production value of this show, the bad guy/girl androids used shrink wrap to confine Dr. Gish to a chair. Made me laugh.I assumed the new partner was some type of android from his first scene. I didn't realize it was a plot twist waiting to happen. They didn't cover that up very well. His speech and behavior patterns reminded me of Data from Star Trek: Next Generations. Brent Spiner/Keanu Reeves hybrid is exactly what I was thinking.This show is a different kind of cop drama, obviously. Space, Mars, androids, etc., all that, but in this one, the detectives seem to be emasculated by their consistent lack of authority. "You'll never get away with it!" "I already have." Main bad guy (I haven't learned all their names yet) is playing his part well. It's obvious he's supposed to be evil, what with a phalanx of lawyers surrounding him at the end and that look on face all the time. Well, maybe I'm assuming too much. Maybe he's just misunderstood. Right.

Appears like they (?) took out a large chunk of the first episode! Check the 2nd episode "review" and you'll see... Weird!

So far I love it. I must have been off the grid when this was on, I happened to find it searching Hulu.
The partner being android was not surprising. It was the grammar. So correct. The partnership reminds me of sort of a mix of Keanu Reeves and Brent Spiner.
I am going to continue watching...What I think I like is although it has Total Recall in the title it's original. Loosely based on the movie but has it's own story to tell.
And yes. Some people still read. I'm a musician and amateur writer. I love sci-fi. And don't understand anyone that doesn't...but accept the fact not everyone is blessed with my obsession, lol.
Interesting. I just watched Blade Runner a couple nights ago.

I've been looking for a show like this for a long time. Big sci-fi fan, and with the rash of cop shows, i've wondered why no one ever tried one with a science-fiction angle. Apparently they did, I just didn't notice!Decent acting, solid stories, very good fx.Not sure i'd want to own it, but i'm glad I found it here on hulu. I'd probably never have purchased it based on a dvd sleeve on a store shelf. Probably would have chalked it up as another cheesy late 90's sci-fi series. Although i'm finding those 'lame sci-fi' series are actually quite good, i just never gave them the chance. Silly youth.Hoping the series gets better as I watch. Though it's too bad there was only one season.
