It's funny that with the decent production value of this show, the bad guy/girl androids used shrink wrap to confine Dr. Gish to a chair. Made me laugh.
I assumed the new partner was some type of android from his first scene. I didn't realize it was a plot twist waiting to happen. They didn't cover that up very well. His speech and behavior patterns reminded me of Data from Star Trek: Next Generations. Brent Spiner/Keanu Reeves hybrid is exactly what I was thinking.
This show is a different kind of cop drama, obviously. Space, Mars, androids, etc., all that, but in this one, the detectives seem to be emasculated by their consistent lack of authority. "You'll never get away with it!" "I already have." Main bad guy (I haven't learned all their names yet) is playing his part well. It's obvious he's supposed to be evil, what with a phalanx of lawyers surrounding him at the end and that look on face all the time. Well, maybe I'm assuming too much. Maybe he's just misunderstood. Right.
