I just watched the enitire series and i have to say that it is suburb. Its ideals are deep, its setting is dark, and its themes are adult, unlike most television programs.
I would call it a mix of Total Recall and Blade Runner, except that it really stirs the mind on issues regarding freedom vs security; corperate power vs govt. agency power, and moral dilemas in scientific advancements.
If you like griping, adult themed sci-fi dramas, you will not be disappointed.

Well I thought this show was ok...it seems older than it is. The man actor is like the poor mans David Duchovny. Seems like a fairly good story, but ever since the new Battlestar Galactica science fiction has higher standards for me. Maybe if I saw it at the time it would have a better effect. They should remake it with better actors and better directing/editing.

I can understand the opening recall having cheesy acting, much like the movie.
The opening credits almost had me looking for something else to watch.
After 5 mins of an actor so bad he must have learned from keanu reeves, i had to turn this garbage off.
If he wasn't the main character, i could probably over look his bad acting.

I liked it. Reminiscent of Blade Runner (the movie with Harrison Ford). Just a hint of x files, Fringe, Sharky's Machine and a dash of Dirty Harry. Lots of potential plot twists. I am surprised that SyFY isn[t running it. As long as they don't get to ambitions and throw in time travel, it's pretty well written as is and the acting is pretty good too. Kudos for the writing, directing and special effects. Hope hero keeps the handgun, although somebody better explain where he can get his hands on more ammo as the plot thickens. Just enough characters introduced to halt before one starts to have to have a diagram of the players. Explores the conflicting emotions of the characters without sacrificing action. D Stockton

It's 2:25 am, PST. I just watched 4 other shows, all of them total pieces of garbage. I was hesistant to watch this one, but... I'm glad I did. It was dark, the characters had some good set-ups for later progression, the setting was a likable dystopia; Arnold wasn't in it. I disagree with the fellow down there that said the acting was bad - granted, it wasn't the greatest - but compared to the last shows I just watched, it was almost near Shakespearean! I'll review later episodes, but I did enjoy this pilot.

This show's got all of the properties of a great science fiction story. Cool new technologies, ethical issues surrounding that technology, space, physics and philosophy. All rolled up within a mystery that makes for plausible fiction. I can't wait to watch the next one! Too bad there is only one season. I bet Issac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke would love this show.

I think Stargate SG-1 was released the same year as this one. It started as a movie, lasted over 10 years, spawned another show and a movie or two all while maintaining true mediocrity. This Total Recall 2070 looks like it has much higher production value, better acting, better storyline for the first ep anyway, and more compelling characters. Plus, it looks like Chinese is dominant in this future, as it should be, kind of like Firefly.This show has aspects of Brainstorm, Blade Runner and iRobot, plus a little Minority Report for a lack of murders. I'm also feeling a little Demolition Man here. "We're police officers! We're not trained to handle this kind of violence!" That kind of vibe.
