This version of Sleepy Hollow felt like I was playing a video game only I was watching because I kept wanting to push start and begin playing the game. I couldnt finish the film because I couldnt get into the generic computer animation. Great idea but the peolple that made this film should let the big boys handle this one like Pixar or Dreamworks. Besides this version just wasnt the same without Bing Crosby doing the narraration.

The main problem with this movie is the animation. Movies done in 3D/CGI do not age well either. If this was drawn like the previous Sleepy Hollow movies (the one from Disney comes to mind), it would be more pleasing to the eyes as time goes on.

Even if they used todays graphic technology, it would be awesome for the time being, but then about 10 years later it will return to being an eye sore.

I also work in the animation industry. The character animation is sub par even for the late nineties. The horseman moves fluently enough, but the other characters fail to express well enough for you to even understand how they are feeling. The guidelines and fundamentals of character animation had been well established since the late 50s. Also, no animator credited in this film has any mainstream work afterward. I wouldn't waste my time on this...just go rent the 2d animated version..."The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (1958) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051850/ or watch something else on HULU.

Considering that Maya and 3ds max were in it's baby step stages and only really used for movie CGI (such as terminator...the first one lol), this movie is well done. Bravo to the animation team!! We are spoiled by the CGI we are able to create these days. But, being in the game animation industry, I can personally appreciate the hours and days of hard labor and time away from their family. You guys have no idea how confusing the software can be to manipulate if you are just learning it. Complain all you want, but you know what, they are now making more money than you and doing what they love to do for a living!! HAHAHAHA! ~Cheers

I never knew they made one like this. But back in '97-'98, I think they could have done better with it. I remember watching a Computer-animated show when I was little. It was called Reboot. I rather liked it. It was the best computer-generated cartoon there was back then. It looked to be about the same quality as this one.

Oh well. Some people like it, some don't.

I disagree strongly with the comment that this animation "was pretty good 3D at the time". I work in the animation industry, as an animator, and even when this was first televised the general attitude among my colleagues was that it was FAR from good. See 2 other replies
