I think the real question is to those who say they fall through the cracks or don't have any money left over for food. That question is, what are you going to do for yourself? The government can't come along and make everyone happy by giving everyone handouts all day. There are programs that help people get jobs, there are schools that are fairly cheap, student loans that will pay off, tons of opportunities to do what you want. I am not well off by any means, but i don't stand around waiting for help. I'm not a victim like the first person that wrote on this post, I am making myself who I want to become. It's not easy, it's hard, but anything worth getting never comes easy. I'm not going to make a 6 figure income by sitting around waiting for people to help me! I need to help myself! Maybe you should consider not voting this time. Basically, I am saying that I, a sixteen year old high school student have educated you a bit in the regions of politics and history. I am not really even sure if you know what you believe in, because you are attacking both candidates, but please do not continue to be ignorant. And please tip. Those waitresses really need the money. Maybe if their restaurant chain CEO's were paying them a decent wage instead of hording useless cash you wouldn't have to tip. But that would be socialism. Wow. I would just like to start by saying that, all though I appreciate you taking a scientific approach and not being afraid to anger someone; you, my fine sir are very ignorant. I hardly even know where to start. The Czars were not even communists. I doubt you even know what communism is. The communist revolution in the early 20th century in Russia dismantled the Czarist regime, which was a monarchy. Secondly, McCain is a HUGE DEregulator. DEEEEEEEEregulator. Deregulation is a prime example of capitalism, not fascism, which I'll bet you also don't know the definition of. deregulation and capitalism have brought America to its knees.
I'm guessing that you are not a capitalist, because you complained about "VOODOO" economics (which I have never heard of), and complain about 2% of Americans making all of the money and not having you interests in mind. And you are exactly right. This is an example of the vicious greed that is killing millions of families economically. However, then you go and laugh about an Obama sticker, saying that he is a communist and wants to "redistribute the wealth." Then, you gave five dollars to a hobo, who bought strong liquor and wrote graffiti all over some playground wall. Neither McCain or Obama are fascists, communists or "War hawks". Obama is a bit of a socialist, but that is a good thing, because through socialism, redistribution of wealth would be a side effect of the economics system.   See 3 other replies

What I was trying to point out is that the ones who are being hit the hardest by this economic depression don't get tax breaks or help with health care, don't getting help financing their homes(Bail-Out Bond) that people suddenly can't pay for (the people you say are better then those on the bottom).
You seem like well respected people who probably qualify for the bail out bond, tax breaks, write-offs, and get cheap healthcare offered through your jobs, but I don't because my house is too small, my income is too low, my tithes aren't big enough, and the healthcare I am offered would take 1/3 of our net income. Yet, we make too much for medical or low-cost healthcare for my children...hmmm....seems odd. Like I said, if you were actually READING, some help for those who fall between the cracks would be nice. We are the ONLY ones not getting government assistance.The middle-class get government assistance, it's just given a different label ie. BOND, the poor get government assistance ie. Welfare, the rich get government assitance, ie. low interest loans and HUGE tax breaks. There is a whole group of people who fall between the cracks and get no government assistance what so-ever. I don't think you understood what I was saying. These two candidates are talking about is the middle-class and the poor. What about those who don't qualify for government assistance nor do they qualify for programs like The Bail Out Bond. Like I said, my husbands WORKS and before he even gets his pay check, 1/3 of it is gone. He works for the State of Ca, and he is being paid UNDER the poverty line, yet we only see 2/3 of his check. After paying only the essentials (gas,rent,etc), we live off of less then $600 a month (that doesn't count gas, at $4 a gallon, or food). As far as making oneself better, I'm going to school, being EDUCATED, so when I am finished we can become middle-class. But I didn't chose one of those stupid vocational schools, I am going to a REAL school that actually teaches something.   See 11 other replies
