Great movie, rare among the selections on this site, and a rare and very good performance by all. The cop really cracked me up! and there were many delightful surprises. I had a missing father also whom I found late in life and tried to rectify the relationship. The wooden leg scene was a gas, Newman's humility always came through when the chips were down, His friends were real and his service to his community was awesome - including the Barney Fife style cop. Definitely made me feel good and I agree in depth with all of the other positive comments. Sorry I didn't see it sooner in life.
