So, I watched the first couple episodes and, frankly, was only a little impressed. I was a huge X Files fan and I admit I love nearly everything by JJ Abrams. However, Fringe is really only OK. Not great. Not terrible. Interesting and believable premise, but basically the same as X Files minus the sexual tension.
Joshua Jackson is GREAT in this--a breath of fresh air. If he weren't in it, I think it would suck, a lot. Anna Torv is not bad, but she always has a look on her face like she's incredibly constipated. I mean, I know her parter and lover died in the first episode after she risked death to save him, only to find out he was betraying her and died anyway. That would make anyone seem negative. However, her constant look of pain is a big turnoff and, frankly, takes this show down at least one star.
Overall, entertaining, but not fabulous.
