I can't stand the angst. It's so predictable with the good rich good poor bad rich bad poor the reformable and the unreformable the cross-class romance. I didn't go to the end. Tell me if I'm wrong. Early Bogey is interesting.
This movie brings to mind so many other plays of its kind. Bogart invented himself in this movie - the brooding - the existential hero - the mannerisms that Belmondo tried to copy in "Breathless." And the teenage gang members act like the Jets and the Sharks in "West Side Story." See the scene where they watch the "rich folks" dancing in their grand house at the edge of the slum.The sociological undertones continue to ring true in whatever poor, crime-ridden community,Who can trace the development of these teenagers into a series of comic films about the "East Side Kids," the "Dead End Kids" and the "Bowery Boys?" This is an early Bogart film, just as he was about to become a star. Very worth seeing. Poignant, was nominated for 4 Oscars including Best Picture of 1937. Unfortunately, Hulu lists this as for Mature Audiences only. I have informed Hulu this is mistake and probably mixed up with Dead End (2003), an R rated horror flick.
Absolutely an all star Cast. Great viewing, Haven't had the pleasure of watching the movie as if it had just been filmed. On other sties the film was distorted and had poor video quality. All star cast down to the lessor know actors. Bravo!
I agree. I've waiting a long time to see the movie; I was searching the wrong title, "The Bowery Boys, Dead End Kids. They were great actors, all star cast. Glad i got a chance to see it. More.

I'm just curious as to why this along with several other films, mostly cowboys, has been placed on the "Recently Added" movies list at Hulu when they've been available for a long time?Anyway, it's a great movie.
