That's what all the fights become somewhere around episode 30 something - mine's bigger than yours. I am not a total anime addict, so maybe I can't appreciate the art form, so this review is intended as a warning to casual anime fans. I have seen some great anime series, but this is not one.
It starts out fantastic, but just disolves into an endless series of fights where
there's always some new escalation of power. And talk, talk, talk, and then more talk - in the middle of life or death battles.
When the group goes to Soul Society, I was looking forward to seeing how the 5 of them would fight as a team to take down superior foes. For example, Ichigo on point offense, the Quincy providing long distance artillery support, the girl defending him and healing the injured, and the 2 muscle guys filling the gaps. But they had no plan at all. Instead we get speeches and pissing contests. It just sucks because the first season is solid and really sets up these high expectations.
