I was the boy in the back seat of the wreck.
I was the boy in the back seat of the car during this episode. It was filmed in the California desert on location with Universal Studios. I actually was on three episodes of Emergency! and got to know Johnny and Roy pretty well.
I went on to being a Paramedic and recieved my EMT certification at Daniel Freeman Paramedic School in California 19 years ago at the same school where the staff from Emergency! recieved there EMT certification. They went to school there so that they would have the knowledge to do the show, their graduating photo is in the hallway of the school.
Do you know the hospital they always showed is actually Martin Luther King hospital in south central LA.
I love this show still and thanks to Hulu for this site.
Peace, Jim Paar Was this review helpful?

The Inspiration for Many Future Paramedics
This show brought back some terrific memories. I was in high school at the time of its' premiere and it inspired me (and many others) to enter the fledgling field of emergency medical services. I joined after graduating from college---and, after 26 years, I'm still a practicing paramedic! Thank you so much, Hulu, for bringing back the "mother" of all EMS-themed shows!

I can recall watching every episode of "Emergency!" as a kid, getting to know Gage and DeSoto as well as all of the firemen of Station 51, but more importantly, actually beginning to care about the welfare of the characters.
This episode was the one that really stuck in my mind, and even after 30 years of waiting for it, I was so excited to see it posted here that I nearly blew a gasket. It took me a few minutes of wrestling with myself "Should I watch it now? Should I save it for tomorrow?" before I gave in and clicked the link. Just a fabulous ep, made even better by the fact that Johnny had to treat himself. Typical outsome - but wow, talk about suspense! Enjoy. Was this review helpful?
