Has anyone else noticed the pattern? L, Mello, Near...LMN....

Maybe it's because I took the weekend off from watching Deathnote, or maybe it's because L is dead, or maybe it is because the rules of engagement have changed... What ever it is, I just did not feel this episode. I wouldn't say it is because L is gone, they had to move the story in some direction. L had been around for a while. But these new characters look and sound stupid. Near is to close to the L thing where he deducts things by saying "What if" when he is sure that is the correct answer. I know it might sound childish of me to say that, as that is the point of Near. He was to become the next L if chosen. But he shouldn't mimic L that closely. He even has his own set of random quirks that are suppose to set him different from everyone else. It was ok in terms of story, but it just seemed to be lacking something new that's good too.
