Usually I don't enjoy Angel's part in the shows -- he's always such a screw-up that it's predictable. In this episode though I really felt that he learned from the experience and developed a bit of empathy -- his last scene really showed a new Angel and I was impressed with him.Dennis and Beth I am always glad to see turn up in an episode and they are both in this one so that is another plus.

I have always considered myself quite the unrivaled fan and useless(?) trivia expert when it came to The Rockford Files... my girlfriend is rolling her eyes and sighing heavily right now... think I just heard the words "obsessive compulsive disorder" but that's alright because she watches reality tv. Happy relationships are built upon secluded man caves, yet somehow she always ends up down in the basement with me... go figure! I can see now that I have some competition in the likes of Mr, Kevin Brown and Scafish- glad to see I'm not the only Rockford junkie out there. On that note, if you are ever bored, read the biography of James Garner on Wikipedia, in particular, with regard to his childhood relationship with his stepmother (think Cinderella) and how it ultimately, shaped his relations with others and family... his brother is in many episodes and the two are very close and quite competitive on the golf course. Garner's been married to the same woman for a half-century! At that mention, my girlfriend smiles!

The ones with Angel are always good. This is another great one!

With this episode, the series enters its full flowering. For the first time, the credits list Chase as the sole producer and as the sole author and it shows. The pacing of this episode is sometimes off-kilter but Chase introduces some emotional depth in unexpected places. More interesting as a sign of the maturation of the show than as an episode in its own right.
