This show and series was the one that all subsequent medical dramas tried to match in realism and the development of an emotional connection with the characters. It truly captured the look, feel and emotions of being a "house officer" in that era. While it lost it's bearing in subsequent years, the pilot and year 1 episodes are a treat.

William Daniels as Dr. Mark Craig, i watch out, for that moody and warm harted md!! he seemed to set off a way off bunch of..... well watch and see. this boston hospital which your the new kid on the block and operation is the game for you!

I have yet to met a surgeon that I have liked even the ones that I have had always like the guy said felt the need to cut first and ask questions later, and than when something goes wrong they want to blame everybody but themselves.
