No, this is not "The African Queen," (a classic Bogart-Hepburn movie), but it does start with a boat on a river in the jungle. As Hitchcock hints at the beginning, this is a four-way love-hate story.
This episode shows the good in rather evil people, and the evil in mostly good people. The plot involves an intense battle of the sexes and some role reversal, and jealousy, deception and treachery without reason. The tension and philosophical exchanges are intriguing. This isolated jungle region is anything but dull.
Features Ed Begley (not Junior), Jeanette Nolan, Tom Simcox, and Maggie Pierce.
Hitchcock's outspoken digs at sponsors and little skits are always fun! For a dramatic and sometimes macabre genius, he could be a pretty silly guy.
