He was exactly like this character he portrays; always after much younger women; he even tried to pick up the Black Dahlia. He was quite the ladies man in his youth,l then he got to be a dirty old man; once his unwanted affections got him a slug in the face and that is why he is shown half face in the Twilight Zonen where he bet a man he couldn't stop talking for one year. The man was winning when Tone tried to upset him into talking by telling him lies about his wife.
This is really a great episode, it has you on the edge of your seat, you feel this undercurrent of horror underneath the story and the ending is truly a shocker. Excellent and representative of Hitchcock as the unparalleled Master of Suspense. Enjoy!
