Every one seems to have faith in Melissa as a 'chef' than she does herself. For her to say that stuff about herself in her position on t.v. shows a major lack of self esteem. She's basically telling the world, "I'm crap and don't know why they keep me on." If you feel that way, change it! Why did you apply for the position in the first place if you don't think you can do it? A good philosophy for Melissa to follow is: Make the thing you're not good at the thing you're best at. Keep working on it! And she thinks everything there is crap, then change it! Why settle for that?! It's just pathetic to hear. Everyone else thinks she can cook, and Chef even liked her clam chowder. He rarely ever likes anything he initially tries at a restaurant. Good job Melissa!! Even Chef tells her to change it and every one is shocked to hear how she feels.
DOG FOOD:
Does every restaurant on this show serve dog food? Wow, these restaurants should be making a great profit if they buy a dollar can of dog food and charge 16 bucks for it! If it looks like dog food, don't serve it! I'd never come back.
MASHED POTATOES:
If you're going to be a successful non-chain restaurant, you need to make homemade mashed potatoes! Just knowing that mashed potatoes are homemade, guests will be coming back. Only commercial restaurants use processed or instant mashed potatoes.
HEALTH DEPARTMENT:
Where have they been?! That kitchen and storage was awful! How can the owner say he has no idea of what's going on? It's your restaurant! It's hard to believe that this restaurant has a rating that keeps it in business. Lazy pigs!! "I wish he'd give me credit" for what he'd done so far....If you're going to clean, clean it 100%. No credit for cleaning only half way.
These people ask for Ramsay's help because they know something is wrong. When Ramsay shows them what is wrong, they get defensive and explode on him. They even try to reverse the positive changes. I'm surprised Ramsay stays after that, but he stays til the end. What a champ! I love Chef!
