Another poor schlub fed only by the mainstream news. The relationship between the Trade Center attacks and IRAQ is called the Bush Doctrine, wherein the US told Iraq to QUIT the cat-and-mouse with UN inspectors over their WMD threat, stockpiles of biological, chemical agents...and a reported NUKE program. The war DIDN'T have to happen if Saddam had simply COMPLIED with the UN mandates. NOW do you see the link? Oh...that's right...the media doesn't tell this story anymore. You do realize that the majority of our oil imports come from Canada. We also export more oil than we import from the middle east. See 3 other replies

We're over "there" for no one reason alone. We can't let chaos, tyranny & totalitarian governments control vital regions or interests. We can't let these goverments run wild over other nations or democracies that are vital to our interests. Before WWII, America was sick of WW I, so we stayed far away from the world "arena". The result - 90,000,000 (90 million) people killed (directly or indirectly) in WWII. Before 9/11 too; the result, a 10 year war so far. No, we can't keep our head in the sand while the world self destructs around us.

and because we need oil, and need to put a diplomatic government in place for that could help us receive that oil.

I mean up until a certain point we were all for Saddam as dictator and could of cared less about how he treated his people... that is until he started to want to negotiate oil contracts with other countries. See 3 other replies

I agree with Tara. Need to yes, want to no. I'm just glad someone out there was making sure bombs weren't being dropped unnecessarily.
