what you say can very well indeed be true,i have a friend who came from equador who was working 3 jobs here in the states just to help afford his grandmothers rent but left equador when he was 10 years old baught some stock and forgot about it then 15 years old his parents die and leave him a giant mansion in equador, so when he turned 18 he went back to equador found out he had over 20 million from the stock he forgot about, decided to join american army traveled to a third world country i forgot name of at the moment his squad leader or w/e said "bring 5 bucks" for a month long station there, he didnt understand and he took a 100 dollar bill, when he went to a bank to exchange it, the guy flipped out at register, and handed him a 100million dollar bill.. wages and everything are different in when it comes to other countries currency. my friends rich in one country, could very well own the other, and is dirt poor here because all that money means nothing in america.   See 3 other replies

I agree, everyone in China does not live like that. Look at Shanghai, it is well developed, hey probably better than any other states in the U.S. Also, one thing for sure is, that factory is opening up a lot of job opportunities for people in China. It is sad that you get to only see your kids once a month, however to them it is worth it because they are able to contribute/provide for the family. Some might think, well it is not worth it at all. The cost of losing family or not get to spend time with them, etc. However, base on the condition that worker on the news lived in, at least she is putting food on the table. There is another side to the story, but it doesn't make things look better. And continuous work to see your kids once a month? They replaced farming land with the factories and increased income, though to say that is equivalent to happiness is a great stretch. Once the farmland is developed over or flooded there is no other real option. And everyone in China does not live like that.   See 3 other replies

The fact that they have to put up suicide nets shows working conditions in China are terrible. I am sure outside of this plant work conditions are worse and that is hard to imagine. I really feel for these people and anyone a slave to this kind of greed.   See 1 other reply
