And they, like all posts, have a time code so you see precisely how often I visit these boards) let alone "pounded" one into anybody. You are the one that said it irks you when white people steal from other cultures. I'm still waiting to hear what constitutes stealing and why it's only wrong when white people do it to non-white people. THAT is my "point". Doug, I don't claim to be any kind of genius. You on the other hand, seem to be a bit of a bully and not really as intelligent as you seem to think. THIS is not discourse. OK I have to make a small adjustment here. I don't think TECHNICALLY that the Nazi party meant to "mock" the swastika, but I would have to say that to take a part of another culture to specifically stand for something that culture is against, that would be inappropriate as well.   See 59 other replies

To toss my opinion out there, I'm going to have to agree with Doug Smith on this one. I think the taco analogy was spot on. I don't understand why dreads are seen as "stealing", anymore than relaxed curls are considered "stealing". Cultures since the beginning of time have borrowed from each other; it's one of the ways that cultures have evolved over time. Sometimes it's good, like when medical traditions are gained or done away with, and sometimes it's not a good "adoption", e.g. the swastika. The point is, people should be allowed to decide that they like a certain aspect of another culture, and as long as they're not mocking, it should be accepted.   See 59 other replies
