Dreyfuss was superb--so believable! and really honed his accent. The grocery boy is his son, per the credits. Blythe Danner also had great character and was a delightful match for Dreyfuss. The younger pair charming, though the fella playing Mr. Brown was a bit stiff. Lovely setting--filmed in Hyannis, Cape Cod; but the Race Point Lighthouse photos online seem to be the actual setting, with the adjacent house. The 1912 period was so well done and wonderfully nostalgic. Just a very sweet movie. Very like Whales of August, but different.

The folded blanket at foot of bed looked by pattern to be a genuine Pendleton, therefore it would be soft wool. See 2 other replies

Those are actually cotton fleece blankets, which were popular in the day. My father had inherited many from his relatives who bought their cotton fleece blankets new around the 1930s or 40s and I remember using those same blankets in the 1970s until they turned into rags in the 80s. @ 44:00 in the movie the assistant light-keeper walks in on the light-keeper in his bedroom.

Note the tan colored blanket on the bed and the blue patterned one hanging on the foot-rail. If I'm not too mistaken they are both micro-fibre blankets that have been transported through time to 1912.

Not too bad. I can understand why Seth left his wife. If that brother hung around my house, I'd leave my wife too. He is an irratating cus. As for Mr. Brown, He is a sorry excuse for a man now ainte he. Watch and Enjoy.
