It’s a different taste of film than your average doc but it has its charm. It’s not really about pizza, more about NYC, although it did make me long for a slice.
Starts out great! Pizza here, pizza there...then they find this guy from the village and a homeless guy. It just went way out into left field and really had nothing to do with pizza anymore. They tried to throw the ball back into the infield, but had already lost my interest. Actually went and watched something else then came back and watched the rest later.
I love New York--lived all over the city for many year. Love pizza--make it weekly if possible. Like documentaries--usually learn something. I really wanted to like this film, but it's terrible. Even one of the interviewees told the filmmaker "You're not good at asking people." So true. This is a stupid movie with not-so-clever interviewees and no thread beyond the prime one: pizza. Reminds me of the mock edit in "Reality Bites."
