C. Thomas Howell is probably the greatest screen actor since Jan Michael Vincent. As for this movie, the direction is almost as bad as the acting.

the movie was ok there were some parts where the acting wasn't that good but over all it was pretty mediocre. it had a good story line i guess, but just wasn't my type. and not to ruin the ending, but HOW THE HELL DID THAT FAT GUY WHO GOT SHOT GET UP, RUN DOWN A FLIGHT OF STAIRS, AND SHOOT THAT OTHER GUY!!?? I'm sorry but that was a bit much. Plus that whole thing where shot at each other a bunch a times and only got one shot... Its realistic cause they weren't really aiming. but if a guy is shot and walks down a whole bunch a stairs two the side of some boat, then why try making the shoot real? especially when their just gonna get up and shoot you back.

Actually it is both. If you check IMDB it lists this film as AKA Streetwise. I think they changed the title after the made the movie. As the opener says Streetwise not Jailbate. Perhaps because this movie plays like a softcoreporn they figured they could target that audience better with the title like Jailbate than Streetwise.
