Deeply disturbing content, told in a masterful way. Defiantly not for kids. That being said its a fantastic story with lots of emotion. Its a much more serious anime relying more on the plot then action. All and all a great movie.

Despite that it didn't show certain outcomes, the main point was she had to be able to overcome her fears and defeat disgusting villains that exist in the world although not in physical appearance but might as well be real. I wish all the girls that have been through similar story lines that they'd be able to become strong and fight for themselves. The film was nothing more than inspiring and left the imagination to what the viewer wanted the ending to be.

This has been driving me nuts reading all the reviews and comments about how the movie ends and I have to admit that the ending threw me off at first. But then I looked up Mardock Scramble and found out that this movie is the first in a trilogy. Which Hulu got the name wrong. The first movie is called The First Compression and the films are an adaptation from a series of novels called Mardock Scramble. From what I read it sounds like the second movie (The Second Combustion) picks up right where this one left off and the third movie has yet to be released. Hopefully we all will see The Second Combustion up on Hulu soon but it might take a while seeing as it was only released in theaters a few months ago.
