If my review was going only on the story, it would prlby be a little higher. But it sickens me every time I see an actor be so inept at faking playing a violin. When they first show him, he can't even hold the BOW right. I mean, that's first freaking lesson. The later he puts his face on it as if it was a pillow. Honestly, what does it take for a director to take some care on how believable his actors look? They really still think that the public is so ignorant that no one knows how to hold or play a violin?
I do have to give them props for the music they picked. A good arrangement of the Danse Macabre by Saint Saens for string quartet at the beginning. They have another section of the same piece when the professor is killed. Good selection of music, horrible violin faking on main character. A pity, the actors in the quartet did such an excellent job. In fact, if they don't play, I'm impressed.
