This movie is about as funny as a clogged toilet...and you can't find the plunger! So there's one actor, one singer and one playwright. The Playwright writes a play, that has a plot similar to the plot of the movie; that's a melodrama about Life's lessons and how 'sheet happens'? Also, we'll through in some tacky Muzak band attempting to play the "Spider" song; NJ style! Let the metaphors of irony pile up as the movie drags its moronic sad tale, at least the cinematography was better than average.
Starts slow like many dramas, but very interesting but not comedy. Superior performances, I think showed the range of Simon Bakker like I have never seen before. Lots of familiar actors from classics like Blossom, Newsies, Cosby Show, All of Us, Law & Order and even music great Lauryn Hill all doing good. But the star of the movie was Brodey and the storyline, which was not perdictable -- at first it came off as a little self righteous, then the true story line emerged that had little to do with race.

I thought there were funny moments, but considering the ending and the overall morose atmosphere, I think it should have been classified as a drama.

There were comedic moments but all in all, it was definitely a drama. I enjoyed it though; the characters and their lives were quite engaging. It kind of reminded me of Mystic Pizza and Friends.
