Sean Dillon's character was not made for Lowe, not by a long shot, he's not believable, plus the movie as a whole was not that good.There are at least (2) more Higgins movies with Kyle MacLachlan playing Dillon; he did a great job and both movies were much better. Great plots, lots of action, intrigue and suspense. Kyle had it nailed....I don't know why they got Lowe for the other movies. Kyle's movies are Thunder Point and Windsor Protocol, must be seen in that order. Highly recommend those.
FYI for those commenting how he didn't have an Irish accent, story goes that as a child , his family moved from Ireland to Boston where he lived till age 18, then returning to Ireland, eventually joining IRA. That's why an American accent.

I usually overlook plot holes when the story, pace, and acting are good. Unfortunately, Rob Lowe wouldn't know Irish if it hit him in the hind end. The story was convoluted and down right silly. How can someone be shot multple times in the back, injured so severly that the surgeon tells him that no other patient with similar injuries survived, and then be beaten with a baseball bat on his back the next day without further injury? Dreck. This movie is total dreck. I've read some of Jack Higgin's books, which are generally well-done. I'm going to watch some of the other Higgin's shows kn Hulu - if Rob Lowe isn't in them.

It is difficult to underestimate the idiocy of this movie. I feel sorry for Rob Lowe and Jurgen Prochnow for being in need of such work. How many times can this super duper spy guy be captured? This is a lame production that is clearly way out of its depth in script, direction, wardrobe, sets and just about everything else. I hope Higgins was well paid.

unfortunately, the movies of his books never translate well. this one is disjointed, meandering, unbelievable (really? all the chinese here have english accents, even the prime minister?)
his books usually have pretty taut story lines, Sean Dillon a rough and tumble but smart character; this poor schlub never even had more than two or three sweaters and his personality and intelligence as limited.

The storyline is similar to a James Bond movie but in this movie there are a few places where the situation does not work as needed in order to keep the story moving along with believability. There seemed to be about 8 spots in the storyline that do not work in a believable manner but if you allow for moviemaking license the overall story is enjoyable. The main character could have been a bit more social but if you remember that he was a previous IRA dude then the hard character he plays seems to work. I liked the Chinese actress. She was interesting. Well there are alot of shifts and turns to the story so it keep me intrigued. Watch it!

According to Jack Higgens, Dillon is an ex IRA shooter who has turned. The lead in this film is about as Irish as the bloody Queen. It doesn't play.
