Meagan, what is most important concerning man's relationship with his creator is less of the name he places on his organization and more with his doctrinal theology. As for that you have to look no further than the Mormon teachings themselves. Christians believe that it is Christ and him alone who can save, as he is God and came to the earth to divert God's wrath on a fallen people by his sacrifice and imparting his righteousness into those who believe. Mormons, however contradict this. "One of the most fallacious doctrines originated by Satan and propounded by man is that man is saved alone by the grace of God; that belief in Jesus Christ alone is all that is needed for salvation," (Miracle of Forgiveness, Spencer W. Kimball, p. 206).
There is no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith as a prophet of God (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p. 188).

The Bible clearly teaches that God is the creator, and not a created being.(Psalms 104:24) That it is through Jesus alone that salvation comes, (John 14:6) and that it is a gift of grace that is not earned (Romans 6:23), God has no beginning, and no end (Nehemiah9:5, Revelation 22:13), and that believers are not to add to or take away from the scriptures which is his holy word. (Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelation 22:18-19)With that said, Mormons have done some incredible and moral things in terms of their contributions to the world and to society, perhaps this movie is among them. It is possible to look to any movie, art, or work and see God's larger meta-narrative in it. Its a mind set that redeems much of the world around us. God is a story teller. One movie I watched recently was the story of a young son, sent by his father to earth, to seek and save the people there. The movie was Superman. Many of the themes of any given storyline can point toward the God-man Jesus Christ, and should be a good habit for Bible loving believers to get into.

You know John, the Mormon church's actual name is the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints. I find it interesting that many people don't consider it to be a Christian church. Yet most Christian churches don't even mention Jesus Christ in their name (ie Evangelical, Catholic, Luthern, ect). Isn't there some part of taking His name upon ourselves that should ring bells for anyone who calls themselves his followers?

Haha funny how he starts a fire with a cell phone battery. How? If he had some steel wool, or other metal that would be great, but seems that they are on an island with nothing but cologne. I personally loved the movie, sure it had it's moments but it was a well thought out film, poor quality because not many christian films have, Avatar, funding.
