The only factual things in this film are that there was a famous Irish Thoroughbred racer named Shergar and that he was kidnapped and never found. Other than that, it is pure speculation and dramatization . I would have expected Hollywood to make this film but I hoped that Ireland would have the decency not to.
Funny, there was a mare named Fanfreluche who was in foal to Secretariat, his first foal I believe, she was kidnapped, found safe and gave birth to a healthy foal. An actual true story and yet no one thought to make a film about it. Of course it only took thirty-nine years to make a film about Secretariat and they dramatized that as well when the true story was amazing enough. Go figure.
