This is a good movie for little ones and old alike. An evil witch casting a man into a bear and a woman of his dreams his love behold to rescue him. This is a new twist in fantasy lore I never heard of and is very interesting.

A classic Norwegian fairy tale, told in simple style. Perfect for children who are of fairy-tale age and who love a good story. There are a few low-tech special effects, but the movie's success comes from the beautiful scenery, the wonderful music, and the atmosphere.

Those reviewers who are complaining about the acting are probably reacting to the fact that this movie is dubbed. The original is in Norwegian. As always, so much is lost when the original voices are removed and voice actors dub the lines. I wish Hulu would offer the option to watch in the original Norwegian with subtitles in English.

Perhaps some children may find this film amusing. Frankly, I thought
it seemed a bit insipid. But, there's a fairy tale for everyone, I guess.

Good for kids. Lacks the drama & big action of American films,( but that might be a good thing sometimes). And less predictable than US family films also.
Script really sounds like an old book. Today they don't.
I think this was a Norway-American production judging by the end credits.
Costumes were really cool. Special FX simple & old-fashioned.
And yeah, there were one or two holes in the plot, but I doubt your kids will mind.
Love to know where the Witch's castle was. Very cool ruins and very big. It'd be a great place to visit on vacation.
